A Legacy of EMC Excellence

Your Smarter Path to Certification Success

GB METECC (UK) Ltd. originated in 2005 as METECC, founded by Peter and Sharon Metcalfe. The company began as an EMC consultancy focused on education, regulatory compliance, and hands-on problem-solving.

In 2024, METECC became GB METECC (UK) Ltd., operating from a dedicated facility in Littlehampton. The company continues to simplify compliance, embed EMC principles early in product design, and empower others through training and knowledge-sharing.

Our Methodology

Start Compliance Early

At GB METECC we believe EMC compliance works best when it is built into your project from the very beginning. Industry studies show that around half of all electronic products fail their first EMC test – usually due to avoidable design issues. By considering EMC at the concept stage, you reduce the risk of costly redesigns, certification delays, and missed launch dates.

We support you at every step, whether you are just starting development or are already well into your project. Early involvement allows us to work alongside your engineers on design-for-compliance principles – such as PCB layout, enclosure shielding, grounding, connector selection and interface design – ensuring potential EMC challenges are identified and addressed before they become problems. Our pre-compliance testing services highlight issues when they are quick and cost-effective to fix, giving you greater confidence in achieving UKCA/CE certification first time.

Compliance is more than a regulatory requirement – it is a strategic advantage. Starting early helps you launch faster, protect your brand reputation, and strengthen your position in the market. And if you come to us later in the process, we will still work with you to find the most effective route to market, ensuring your product meets all necessary EMC testing and certification requirements.
